It's almost Pablo's first birthday! Pablo is a Labradoodle with an amazing amount of energy, He bounds through the door and leaps through the gates, anxious to go and greet his many "Doodle" friends which number near 75! Some days it seems like a Doodle Palooza around here.

Our staff is the absolute best in town! We only hire experienced, professionally trained staff members who are certified through Pet Care Services.
Glen Cunningham has worked with us for over 3 years and has over 20 years of dog training experience. Glen uses a gentle but consistent approach to work with all our pals who may have some behavioral issues that need some support.
Ryan Whitney has worked with us for 2 years and has over 10 years of supervisory and management experience. An avid dog lover, he enjoys finding new ways to keep all the dogs playful through the day.
Brittany Bealer has worked with us for almost two years and has over 4 years of supervisory experience and is considered our "idea" person, always searching for new ways to improve our services.
Kelli Scott has worked with us for 1 1/2 years and hs over 5 years of supervisory experience working with dogs. Kelli has quickly become a wonderful addition to our staff, rounding out all of our services here at The Pooch.
Brad Alston has worked for us several years on a part time basis and is absolutely crazy about our pooches. We often find him down on the ground, surrounded by all his buddies and in his lap....even if it's Diesel, a big Rottweiller puppy!!
Sio Glofelty is our newest employee and she loves giving the dogs lots of special attention especially during their nice, long relaxing baths with massages. She has had 4 years of supervisory experience in the dog daycare environment.
We have a great staff that are always ready to help your pal have fun all day long and also be safe and healthy.

As the owners of Playful Pooch, we are committed to providing excellent care and attention to every dog that visits The Pooch. Our goal is to provide a relaxing and nurturing experience that includes supervised socialization in a safe, clean and fun environment, with lots of personal love and attention from our experienced, caring and certified Pet Care Technicians.
Having spent over twenty years in banking, Will has always been interested in the pet care industry and has taken several classes through the Pet Care Services Association. He is an ABKA Certified Pet Care Technician.
Brenda has been a financial consultant for over 25 years and now really enjoys working at The Pooch with all of our great customers and their pooches.
We were destined to work with dogs, since we met while attending Southern Illinois University in Carbondale which is home to the Salukis!
Most importantly, we are the owners of two rescue dogs, Mollie, a Tibetan Terrier, and Bristol, a Brittany mix. Bristol loves being the "Top Dog" at The Pooch while Mollie prefers lounging up front in the office. We couldn't resist showing you their Halloween picture from this year! Our first dog, Willie, lived to be almost 17 years old and it was hard to find places to leave him while traveling on business and vacations. It was this struggle to find a suitable place that would provide the extra attention that Willie needed as he got older that led us to enter the dog boarding and daycare business.
