Did you know that a wagging tail is not necessarily the sign of a happy dog? It can be suprising to approach a tail wagging dog only to get growled or barked at. Other signs of dog body language should be considered when approaching any dog. Posture, position, ears, mouth and tail position can all communicate something other than "happy". There are many great resources online to learn how to read a dog's body language. Of course, a wagging tail can be a very happy and excited dog, especially when their entire body is also going wiggle, wiggle!
